Ghana is set to host the Women African ChampionshipTournament which doubles as the Africa qualifier for 2019 Women World Cup.
The top three countries who will emerge winners of the tournament will be selected to represent Africa in World Cup at France.
In July 2016 Total secured an eight- year sponsorship package from the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) to supports ten of it principal competition.
As a result of that the 2018 Women Africa Cup of Nation has been dubbed “Total Women Cup of Nations.”
Hon Freda Prempah, Chairperson for Local Organizing Committee (LOC) in an interview with Asempa Fm disclosed that a thorough inspection of the stadium, hotel rooms and training pitches will be conducted during the first week in November 2018. According to her this inspection ensure that the place has been adequately prepared to accommodate participants from other countries.
She has called on corporate bodies, institutions and the government to come and support the black queens to enable them win the tournament.
She also announced that the tournament will take place at Accra Sports Stadium and the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
“The tournament will kick off on 17th November and end on 1stDecember 2018,” she added.
