Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide has disclosed that the ruling New Patriotic Party [NPP] government is set to construct a modern sports stadium in the Eastern Region to aid in the development of sports.
According to the Member of Parliament for the people of Ketu North constituency, the government in their manifesto promised to build modernized stadia for some regions that do not have it and has hinted of going contrary to what they said.
“We have decided to construct a befitting stadia in some of the regions that do not have to help develop the game and looking at our manifesto, Eastern region is one of the regions we considered to construct a modernize stadium,” he told Bryt FM.
“It will be very necessary to get befitting stadia for Eastern region and we will do it,” he added.
Pius further disclosed that Brong Ahafo, Upper East, Upper West and Volta region at the appropriate time will get a suitable regional stadium as the government plans to fulfil its promises.
