The Zongo Development Fund (ZoDF) announced a major boost for its Islamic Senior High School project during a courtesy call and stakeholder engagement held at Sagnarigu in the Northern Region on Saturday, 3 January 2026.

The event was led by ZoDF Chief Executive Officer Alhaji Halidu Haruna, who met with the Paramount Ruler of the Sagnarigu Traditional Area, Naa Alhaji Yakubu Abdullai, to discuss the way forward for the school.

Alhaji Haruna expressed gratitude to the traditional ruler for allocating 33 acres of land to ZoDF for the new school. He said the land gift would allow the project to move from planning to construction, bringing quality Islamic education to the community.

The CEO praised the ruler’s “humility and punctuality,” noting that such support reflects the spirit of cooperation needed for development.

Naa Alhaji Yakubu Abdullai, a former ambassador, commended the ZoDF CEO and linked the initiative to President John Dramani Mahama’s “reset agenda,” which aims to revitalize the nation’s social infrastructure. He added that the partnership demonstrates how traditional leadership and government can work together for the benefit of the youth.

The Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu Constituency and several other public officials joined the ceremony, showing broad political backing for the project. After the meeting, Alhaji Haruna toured nearby ZoDF‑funded projects that are still under construction, inspecting progress as part of his Northern Region tour.

The Islamic Senior High School is expected to open its doors within the next two years, providing a modern learning environment for students in the Zongo communities.
