FOUR PEOPLE have been burnt into ashes after a ferocious fire swept through a house at MansoAponapon in the Ashanti Region.
The inferno, according to a police report, started around 11pm on Saturday, April 10, 2021, when all the inhabitants of the house were fast asleep.
The victims could therefore, not see the fire coming, and were trapped in their rooms, where they died.
The deceased persons have been identified as Kofi Owusu, 48, Esther Cobbina, 38, Konadu, who is eight years old and Kwadwo Awuah, who is just five years.
The report said four other people sustained injuries and they have been hospitalised.
It said the assemblyman ofAponapon reported to the police that there was fire outbreak in a certain house in his electoral area, so police rushed there.
When the police reached the scene, fire fighters had been able to quench the blaze, but sadly four people had been burnt and four others were injured.
The injured people were rushed to the St. Martin Hospital at Agroyesum for treatment and the dead sent to the morgue of the same hospital.
According to the police report, the actual cause of the fire was not immediately known and the Fire Service in the area are still investigating to unearth what caused the fire outbreak in the house.
