MP for Weija-Gbawe Supports BECE Candidates with Mathematical Sets

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Patrick Kumor has joined the Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Tina Mensah to distribute Mathematical sets to BECE candidates in the municipality.

Public Schools within the Municipality in Friday, 12th November 2021, received mathematical sets from the Member of Parliament (MP).

This exercise offers an opportunity for the MP and MCE to have engagements with the students before they sit for their examination.

The Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs Mercy Quansah Ogoe encouraged the students to take every lesson seriously and put aside every fear they may be encountering and she also used the opportunity to encourage teachers give their very best to the students as they are in their last minutes to write their exams.

Addressing the students, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon Patrick Kumor thanked parents and teachers for their efforts in ensuring that the students get the best tuition to enable them write their exams and come out with flying colours.

He mentioned that Weija Gbawe came out the second best in Greater Accra after last year’s examination and this year, we must grab the first position because he has so much confidence in the students sitting for this examination.

He advised them against examination malpractices which is a very bad habit and urged every student must desist from it.

He mentioned his commitment to ensuring that every child within Weija Gbawe Municipality gets access to good and quality education with a conducive environment.

Hon. Kumor (MCE) mentioned the new science based secondary school that is almost completed.

He said, best performing students will get the opportunity to be part of the first batch of students who will be admitted and he was going to ensure that.

In conclusion, he mentioned an award scheme for best performing school, female best student, male best student and the overall best student and encouraged every student to do their best to come out with flying colours.

Hon Tina Mensah, the Member Of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and Deputy Minister for Health in her address expressed great appreciation to the teachers for their commitment and efforts in giving the students the very best of education.

She encouraged the students not to belittle themselves into thinking that those in the private schools are better than those in the public schools.
She said her daughter was in the public school and, today, she is studying at the Wesley Girls Senior High school in the Central Region.

She emphasised on confidence as far as examinations are concerned and that they should have no fear because they have had best teachers.

What they’ve been taught over the years are what will be appearing in the exams.

In her final words, she mentioned her commitment to ensuring the GIRL CHILD education which is to see to it that we get more of our girls enrolling into our various schools to also receive formal education.

Vote of thanks was said by representatives from the various schools and they all thanked the MP and MCE and assured them of total success in the exams.
