A certified Stroke Nurse from the Ghana Nurses Association, Dallas, USA, Madam Rebecca Nana Kankam has commended nurses at the Accident and Emergency Department after her three-day’s voluntary working visit.
Madam Kankam congratulated the nurses at a debriefing session organized by the Hospital’s Nursing Directorate and urged the nurses to add urgency to their efforts even in the face of inadequate resources.
“I realized that the ED nurses are doing their best even though the system does not favor them”, she said.
She suggested that recognition of the efforts of hardworking and efficient nurses by posting their names on recognition platforms would motivate such nurses and encourage others to get on board to become high achievers.
She promised that her Association will further support Korle Bu with donations and also organize more voluntary visits to share their knowledge and expertise.
Madam Rebecca Kankam volunteered at the Emergency with her daughter, Miss Larissa Kankam, who is also a medical/surgical nurse with specialty in Neuro nursing. They both work at the Medical City in Dallas, Texas.
The volunteers also paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of the Hospital, Dr Opoku Ware Ampomah.
