As part of the measures of improving the Cocoa sector and Ghana’s forestry, the African Afforestation Association has partnered with the Forestry Commission and Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) to equip over 100 local farmers with the needed resources to sustain the sector.
The African Afforestation Association (AAA) is an organization focused on climate change mitigation and poverty alleviation in Africa through tree planting, specifically using the scientific Groasis Waterbox Method. They advocate for environmental sustainability by planting fruit and other trees to create new forest cover.
The 6-Day training program which has been scheduled for Bekwoie in the Ashanti Region from 27th April to 2nd May, 2026 will focus on cocoa agroforestry, and carbon-credit or climate projects in Ghana.
The Omankrado of Gomoa Asempanyin, Nyimfa and Amankrakuahen of Gomoa Assin Traditional Area, Nana Kumasah Krampah II has urged all farmers and agricultural enthusiasts to take advantage of the opportunity in order to enhance their farming activities.
Nana Kumasah Krampah II, who is also an astute board member of the association indicated that farming is now evolving with scientific methods being implemented across the world.
The founder and Chief Executive of the association Light Kwametse Aboetaka together with Nana Kumasah Krampah II, over the weekend welcomed the chief executive of Groasis, Wout Hoff with his delegation from Holland. The delegation formed part of the intended activities outlined.

According to the association, the activities outlined includes Groasis Scientific Method of Planting presentation to Cocoa Board on Wednesday, 29 April 2026, followed by another presentation on Thursday, 30th April at the Forestry Commission.
