Eight students from St. Johns Grammar, St.Thomas Aquinas, and Pope John Senior High Schools are before a Koforidua District Magistrate Court for impersonating during West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination(WASSCE) for private candidates held in September this year.

According to the Complainant, John M.K Jentuh, a teacher and Examination Supervisor at Pope John SHS Examination Center, the students were fished out during biometric verification of candidates on separate days.

Four of the accused persons, including a 24-year-old from Akrade in Asuogyaman district, have been convicted on their own plea, fined Ghc1,200 each and signed a year bond of good behavior.

They were convicted by the Presiding Judge, His Worship Nana Osei Assibey after a social inquiry report by the Department of Social welfare.

Two of the suspect students- both 17 years from St.Thomas Aquinas and St.John Grammar – who allegedly conspired and impersonated during the examination have jumped bail hence a bench warrant has been issued for their arrest on Friday, November 22, 2019.
