The La Dade-Kotopon constituency of the National Democratic Congress, (NDC), on Sunday 4th October, 2020 officially launched it’s campaign ahead of the elections in December.
The event which took place inside La attracted a lot of top dignitaries and sympathizers of the party.
The 2020 NDC Parliamentary ticket of the constituency is currently held by Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah who was also the past MCE of the La Dade-kotopon municipal Assembly under the NDC.
Speaking during the launch, the National chairman of the NDC, Hon. Ofosu Ampofo, advised the constituents to take a critical attention of the past achievements of their Parliamentary candidate and also vote wisely come December 7th.
He also encouraged the executives of the constituency to work hand in hand with the P.C as well as give her the needed support in order to win the seat and continue the good works carried out.
The chairman, however, claimed the NDC government, when in power initiated and constructed a lot infrastructural projects which include the kejetia market in Kumasi, Tema Harbor, Tepa Hospital and others in the country.
Ofosu Ampofo also dared the NPP government to a debate on the infrastructural developments that both parties have achieved during their era.
The Parliamentary candidate, Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, in her address to the constituents stated that she has outlined major developmental policies and projects to be implemented when voted into office.
She stated that she will provide quality education for all students in the constituency.
“With regards to education, I want to assure you all that we will construct an ICT library and an ultramodern computer centers so that our children will be able to access them with no cost. And those who wants to learn a trade in computer hardware and software will be assisted for free.
“I will also provide free extra academic tutoring for pupils in the less privileged communities in the La Dade-Kotopon municipality,” she said.
Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah added that the Disability Common Fund will be put to a good use and effectively to enable all disabled persons get access to quality education and training.
“In the past, I worked and supported all disabled in the municipality and I will continue to support them. It is not the will of any person to be disabled, so with the help of the common fund, I will provide for all in terms of education and skills acquisition like I did in the past for them. I can boldly mention some disabled people I helped in the past who have completed their tertiary education, the likes of Fareed, Gilbert, Mina and Kaizey,” Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah hinted.
She again added that she will provide quality and sustainable jobs for the youth in the constituency in order reduce unemployment.
“I will liaise up with entrepreneurs and all pivotal resource persons to reduce economic dependency among the youth in the municipality and I will make sure to create jobs for the unemployed graduates as well.
“We will provide loans to our market women to enable them invest in their business, this I am sure will give the constituency a better image,” she stressed.
She disclosed that she will develop and lift infrastructural works in the municipality.
“I want to reassure you all that when we are voted into power, I will construct and complete the La market. I also want to assure the Prisons service that, when I am voted into power, I will construct an ultramodern market for them.
“Our public schools will see a huge face lift and I will make sure to give my best when it comes to infrastructure like I did in the past as the MCE,” she said.
The Parliamentary candidate, Hon. Rita Naa Odoley Sowah, advised the constituents to reminisce the projects carried out as the past MCE and vote wisely for John Dramani Mahama to enable them to continue the unfinished jobs.
