The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central Constituency Hon. Abdul Latif Dan, and the Municipal Chief Executive of the Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly, Hon. Frank Nkansah with support from both religious leaders have cut sod for the constructions and handing over of several life-changing projects in the constituency.
The projects, which include an ultramodern market complex at Shukurah, a football Astroturf at Town Council Line, school buildings, health center, drainage systems, and mechanized boreholes are expected to transform the lives of residents and boost the local economy.
The sod-cutting and handing over ceremony, which took place on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, attracted traditional leaders, security experts, business moguls, and political enthusiasts from the constituency.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Abdul Latif-Dan expressed gratitude to the constituents for their support and love, stating that the funding for the projects is ready and would be put to good use.
“These projects are a testament to our commitment to improving the lives of our constituents. We have the funds available to make sure we complete these projects. All necessary plans including architecture have also been made available, so I want to assure u all that, these projects will be completed soon”, he said.
He reiterated that, the John Dramani Mahama’s led government is poised on improving life’s and supporting communities and Ghanaians.
The MCE, Hon. Frank Nkansah assured the constituents of the timely completion of the projects, revealing plans outlined by the assembly to transform and improve livelihoods within the constituency. He indicated that suitable measures have been put in place to ensure quality education and improved health conditions for the community. “We are committed to working with our partners and constituents to ensure that these projects are completed on time and to the highest standards,” he said.
The ultramodern three storey open shops market complex at Shukurah is expected to provide a boost to local traders and entrepreneurs, providing them with a modern and hygienic space to sell their goods. The market complex, which will be constructed by Premium Plus company, an indigenous Ghanaian company, will feature well-equipped shops, offices, and conference rooms for events. This is expected to create jobs and stimulate economic growth in the constituency.
The state-of-the-art football Astroturf at Town Council Line is expected to provide a safe and modern space for young people to engage in sports and recreational activities, promoting health and wellness in the community. The facility, which will be constructed by Landwind Company Limited, a local firm, will feature offices, conference rooms, and changing rooms, among others.
The construction of the three storey maternity, dentistry unity and administrative center, is expected to improve healthcare services in the constituency, providing residents with access to quality medical care. The health center, which will be constructed by Sourceone Engineering and Logistics Company Limited, a local firm, is expected to be completed within eight months, with funds readily available through the District Common Fund.
As part of the projects, twenty-two (22) mechanized boreholes are expected to be completed across the various electoral areas, providing clean and safe water for constituents. The New Abossey Okai basic school would also see a facelift with construction of two (2) storey 6-unit classroom block to enhance safe and sound education.
Traditional leaders, market woman and security experts expressed their readiness for the projects, indicating their support for promoting infrastructural development in the constituency.
In an interaction with some residents and constituents, they expressed gratitude to the Member of Parliament and the Municipal Chief Executive as well as the NDC government for the support and the social amenities being constructed. They disclosed their readiness to support the completion of these projects.
“This is what we were calling for and we voted wisely for the NDC to change our lives and community. So we are very happy for these projects. The MP and MCE have done very well to bring these projects to us, we shall continue to rally behind them for success”.
The completion of these projects is expected to mark a significant milestone in the development of Ablekuma Central Constituency.
