The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma Central Constituency, Hon. Abdul Latif-Dan, and Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Frank Nkansah, have officially cut sod for the construction of an ultramodern and FIFA standard astroturf at the Town Council Line Park.
This initiative, held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, is geared towards promoting sports infrastructure and talents in the constituency.
Addressing the constituents, Hon. Abdul Latif-Dan indicated that a committee would be established to ensure proper maintenance of the facility. He mentioned that funds have been made available to ensure the successful completion of the project.
The Town Council Line park astroturf will be constructed by Landwind Company Limited, a local firm with over a decade of history.
According to the CEO of Landwind Company, Mr. Klass Peters, the facility will have an office, spectator stand, conference center, changing rooms, and among other ancillary centers. He assured that the project will be completed within the stipulated time, providing a modern sports facility for the community.
With sole funding from the municipal Assembly’s common fund, the construction of the astroturf is expected to promote sports development in Ablekuma Central, providing a safe and modern space for young people to engage in sports and recreational activities.
The facility is also expected to host local and national sports events, promoting the constituency as a hub for sports development.
The launch of the project has been welcomed by the constituents, who are eager to see the facility completed and in use.
