The Nungua community will come to a standstill on Thursday 11th July, 2019, at Obenetsoshi as the first edition of the Kplejoo table tennis competition takes off.
The competition would see twenty participants, five each from Nungua, Teshie, La and Tema vying for supremacy in both the juvenile and seniors division.
The juvenile division would commence at 10am and the seniors continue from 2pm and finally climax the event with awards ceremony at 5pm.
The brain behind the competition, Apostle Samuel Anum said that the competition would enlighten the upcoming festive season in the community.
“The competition has come at the right time because the Nungua community is gearing up for the celebration, and this would add more taste”.
He also reiterated the need for the youth to partake in this competition.
” Apart from participating, there will be cash prizes, medals and souvenirs from the sponsors to deserving players who would emerge as winners”.
“The juvenile players would also have the opportunity to socialize with other senior players and improve on their playing skills”. he added.”
Ghana’s number one spinner, Derek Abrefa will be in attendance to grace the occasion as special guest.
Other prominent sports personalities will also grace this August occasion.
The competition is being supported by the Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) and sponsored by Mapan medical supplies, KpooK3k3, NWGL and Eric Dai company limited etc.
