The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) has cut sod to begin six major development projects across the education, health, roads and water sectors in the Ashiedu Keteke, Ablekuma South and Okaikoi South Sub-Metropolitan Districts. These projects include the renovation of the Private Odartey Lamptey Basic School, upgrades to the Makola Clinic, road works along the Kwame Nkrumah Avenue corridor, the drilling and mechanisation of ten boreholes in selected schools in Ablekuma South, and the construction of nine water storage facilities in selected markets in Okaikoi South.

Speaking during the sod-cutting ceremony, the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Michael Kpakpo Allotey, said the projects are expected to be completed within four to ten months and will be funded through the District Assemblies Common Fund and the Assembly’s Internally Generated Funds. He also expressed appreciation to President John Dramani Mahama for supporting local governments with resources to carry out meaningful development projects that directly impact communities.

The Mayor called on residents to support the Assembly’s work, emphasizing that governance must be driven by action and service to the people. He reaffirmed AMA’s commitment to delivering visible improvements in education, healthcare, road infrastructure and access to clean water, as part of efforts to improve living conditions and promote sustainable development across Accra.

More Strength to do more, much love Mayor of Accra.
