Assembly Members, Heads Of Departments Attend Capacity Building Workshop

Assembly Members and Heads of Departments of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly have attended a two days workshop.

The capacity building workshop which started on Wednesday, 26th May 2021, ended on Thursday, 27th May 2021.

The venue for the workshop was the Pentecost Pension House in the New Gbawe Electoral Area.

The two days workshop was on Leadership and Revenue Mobilization and the Role of Stakeholders in Enhancing/Deepening the Decentralization Process in Ghana.

The resource persons, Dr. Doli-wura Zakaria and Lawyer Hassan Yakubu, were from Excel Links Consult Limited, a local government consultancy.

In his opening remarks, the Presiding Member of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Emmanuel Oduro Ampaw, asked all participants to be attentive and ask questions when given the opportunity.

The welcome address was delivered by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor.

He welcomed everybody to the workshop and ask for more collaboration between the Assembly Members and the Heads of Departments to move tha Assembly foreword.

Hon Kumor (MCE) said the rapport existing among the Member of Parliament (MP)for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, the PM and himself has been recognized and this has led to his been mentioned as the best performing MCE.

The keynote address by the MP, Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayele Mensah, was on working together.

She reiterated the need for coercion, trust and commitment to push the Weija-Gbawe Municipal vehicle to greater heights.

She urged the participants to listen, learn and implement whatever they imbibe.

The resource persons delivered participatory expositions which included team building, team work and the role of Assembly Members and Heads of Departments in achieving targets set.

Closing the workshop, Hon. Patrick Kumor (MCE) said he believed that whatever had been learnt over the two days workshop would be put to practice.

He thanked all for attending the workshop and wished them well.

Participants were given certificates of participation.
