Ayensuano NAMO launches Disaster celebration Week.

The Ayensuano District of the National Disater Management Organization (NADMO) on Monday October 8,2018 launched this year’s Disaster week at Kuano with a mini float participated by Staff of NADMO and representatives of Disaster Volunteer Groups (DVGs) in the District.

The float which started from Sowatey and ended at Kuano was to create awareness about the week long Disaster Celebration which is under International theme “Reducing Economic Losses”.

The program led by the Acting District NADMO Director ,Joseph Okai Gyan,saw one -on- engagement with residents along the roadside of Sowatey and Kuano on the need to be disaster conscious and help the Organization prevent man-made disasters to safe the purse of the nation for other developmental projects.

After an hour of the awareness creation march in the communities,the team converged at the Kuano Chief Palace where Gyaasehene Kwabena Addo led Nananom to welcome the procession .

Mr.Okai Gyan and District Operations officer addressed the gathering on vision and missions of NADMO as well details of the various disaster types and preventive measures require.

The Gyaasehene of Kuano ,Nana Kwabena Addo underscored the important role of NADMO with a call on government to resource the organization to efficiently execute its mandate .

NADMO officials subsequently visited Kuano D/A Basic School to inspect their infrastructural challenges .

As part of the Disaster Week celebration,the Ayensuano office of NADMO has underlined many activities including clean up exercise, community awareness creation on disaster prevention, climate change impact on disaster ,road safety for Okada riders and drivers at accident prone Asuboi -Teacher Mante road among others activities .A durbar will be held at Teacher Mante on Friday to Climax the Disaster week celebration .
