Weave Ghana the lead manufacturer of hair extensions in Ghana with over 2000 workers have presented safety and protocol items against Covid-19 to beauticians and hairdressers in Accra.
According to marketing manager Miss Angela Ayishetu Baba “our lead brand Darling is in every salon in the country, and we want to contribute in saving lives and supporting the government of Ghana”.
“With hairdressers being a core part of our business we are making this donation to the national bodies of the hairdresser associations to support them in the wake of the corona pandemic” she said.
The nation’s premier organiser of sanitation and sports programs One On One Foundation CEO Emmanuel Olla Williams said they will soon embark on a salon hygiene campaign to educate and help them in management and curbing the spread of the virus.
Weave Ghana donated, Veronica buckets. Hand soap, Nose masks, and product packages to be given to needy salons to aid them revive their businesses.
“We believe this will go a long way to help the country overcome this pandemic” added Sahil Malik, the National Sales Manager.
Among the early recipients was Madam Jemmy Sarkodie of Roji 1. She commended the effort of Weave Ghana.
Miss Angela Ayishetu Baba marketing manage of Weave Ghana, producers of Darling, TCB and other hair products urged Ghanaian women to patronize their products.
Dr. (Mrs) Anastasia Yirenkyi of the Ministry of Health adviced beauticians and hair dressers in Ghana to abide by the safety and health protocols in order to control the spread of the Coronavirus.
Mrs Joyce Lamptey, President of the National Association of Beauticians and Hairdressers also thanked Weave Ghana for the gesture and promised to let all their members abide by the Covid-19 protocols.
Madam Bernice Asante of the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians in the Greater Accra also received on behalf of her members and expressed her sincere gratitude for the donation.
