Breman, Sefwi Others Benefit From CODA IPEP Projects

The Coastal Development Authority (CODA) has completed the construction of mini bridges and culverts at Breman, Sefwi, Ayebiahwe, Wawase and Ampleforth in the Lower Denkyira Constituency in the Central Region under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP).

During a community engagement with the chiefs and people of the area, varied needs were brought to the attention of the Authority, paramount amongst them were the, mini bridges, stall markets, WC toilets and a market. As part of the mandate of the Authority in leading the Implementation of IPEP in the 109 constituencies in the six regions with the construction of priority projects and rolling out of initiatives to alleviate poverty and empower communities, the provision is being made.

In a monitoring exercise by the C.E.O and other Stakeholders, it was observed that a number of projects have been completed; they include mini bridges and culverts at Breman, Asamase, Sefwi, Ayebiahwe, Wawase, Ampenkrom and Ampleforth, a bridge at Ampenkrom-Soldier-Domama feeder road and two community centers at Jukwa Abodo and Nyamebekyere and a 3-Unit classroom block at Mfuom.

There are a number of projects at different stages of completion, these include, two 10-seater disability-friendly WC toilets with ancillary facilities at Jukwa and Wawase market, a medium market construction at June and a 40-seater open market stall, storerooms and external works at Wawase in Kwansakrom for the Constituency’s development.

The projects are being funded by the Government of Ghana under the IPEP for the advancement in education and economic empowerment of these communities in the constituency.
