The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Coastal Development Authority (CODA) visited both completed and ongoing projects in the Central Region of Ghana. These projects are being funded under the one million dollars initiative through the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP).
CODA awarded several contracts within the Coastal Development Zone with the aim of facilitating socioeconomic development in the one hundred and nine (109) constituencies under six (6) regions namely, Western North, Western, Central, Greater Accra, Volta and the Oti regions.
The Anaafo Market in the Cape South Constituency.
During the monitoring and inspection, Lawyer Jerry Ahmed Shaib and Honourable Ernest Arthur, Metropolitan Chief Executive of Cape Coast visited the Anaafo Market in the Cape Coast South Constituency and interacted with the contractor and the market women. The CEO inquired from the contractor, Finejob Company Limited whether the completion date for the project can be met. According to the contractor the completion date of the project is June this year since the actual duration of the project is 12 months. He gave assurance that per the progress so far they are optimistic that the market would be handed over within the scheduled time.
The market women expressed their appreciation to the president, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for constructing the new market for the people of Cape Coast. They also expressed their satisfaction with the quality of work being done by the contractor. Honourable Ernest Arthur encouraged the contractor to ensure they meet the timelines since the market women are not comfortable with their current temporary place.
The Artisanal Village in Mempeasem in the Cape Coast North Constituency
The CEO who was accompanied by the Cape Coast Mayor also inspected the progress work of the Artisanal Village in Mempeasem and expressed his dissatisfaction of the speed of work by the contractor. In his response the contractor explained that the delay was due to the result of some few variations and adjustments that were made. He promised that the project would be completed in few weeks since the issues have been resolved.

The CEO’s visit to the Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira revealed that the one million dollars per constituency funded market and water closet project is about 90 % complete.
