CODA Strikes Partnership deal with Hungarian Ambassador to Ghana

The Hungarian Ambassador to Ghana, His Excellency Tamas Endre Feher on Thursday 10th of March 2022 received a delegation from the Coastal Development Authority (CODA) led by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lawyer Jerry Ahmed Shaib and the Deputy CEO in charge of Mobilization and Private Partnership, Mr. Emmanuel Affram Anim.

As part the Authority’s efforts of strengthening its public-private partnership, there is the need to create strong ties and collaboration with foreign Diplomats in order to attract strategic investors to augment its efforts in the facilitation of socio-economic development within the coastal zone.

His Excellency Tamas Endre Feher lauded the Authority for the bold step taken to ensure that the beach communities are clean and free of filth under its CODA clean beach initiative.

According to him, achieving a sustainable clean beach programme is education. He stated that Hungary is an example of countries that have achieved clean water fronts through public education.

He advised the Authority to build a strong partnership with the European Union (EU) in order to take advantage of the several opportunities in terms of resource and funding. He further assured the Authority of its support by linking it with the Hungary Hub, a department at the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office where funding is provided for programs such as health, sanitation, education sectors, and among others

Mr. Shaib explained that under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP), the Authority has been able to implement over one thousand four hundred and seventy-three (1,473) projects in all the hundred and nine (109) Constituencies within the six (6) regions of jurisdiction. He said apart from these physical infrastructure projects, CODA has been able to also implement some social intervention programmes like the CODA Credit Union, CODA Drive, CODA Health Train among others.

He expressed his appreciation to the Ambassador for pledging his support in the facilitation of an exchange programme to help in capacity building of staff through tapping of best practices and technical know-how in the area of development. The Authority as part of strengthening its public-private partnership is collaborating with the Diplomatic missions to build a strong partnership.
