CODA UNDERTAKES DEVELOPMENTAL PROJECTS IN AGONA EAST CONSTITUENCY

Agona East, a constituency in the Central Region is benefitting from the construction of several projects by the Coastal Development Authority (CODA) with funding by the Government of Ghana under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP).

In addressing the needs of the Constituency, a 3-Unit classroom block has been completed at Agona Asafo, community. There is also ongoing construction of a community-based health and planning services (CHPS) compound which is currently at roofing level in Agona-Nantefa.

Project Selection

As part of CODA’s mandate in promoting the socio-economic development within the coastal development zone, the bottom-up approach is used by the Authority through a stakeholders’ engagement and needs assessment whereby prioritized projects are made known and approved for the development of the constituency.

Significance of project


Inadequate educational infrastructure was identified as a major socio-economic need hence the construction of the classroom blocks in Agona East constituency to aid teaching and learning.

Aside the 3-Unit classroom block and the CHPS compound, CODA is also constructing other projects in the constituency such as a durbar ground in Nantefa Kuado, a 2-Unit classroom block in Nkraful which is at roofing level as well as a modern market in Agona Kwanyako among others.
