CSE is a foreign agenda – Education Ministry

The Ministry of Education is assuring parents it will not allow any curriculum which contains explicit sexual information to be taught in schools.

It maintained that the new Standard Board Curriculum being implemented will not promote homosexuality.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ministry of Education, Ekow Vincent Assifuah, disclosed this on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem, Tuesday while responding to concerns raised by parents and civil society organizations about the introduction of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in schools.

The Ministry and Ghana Education Service have been criticized for promoting Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender agenda.

But, in a rebuttal, Mr Assifuah said the CSE is an agenda of some foreign Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO).

He explained that due to the alarming increase of HIV infections and teenage pregnancies, NGO’s like Marie Stopes want to increase sexuality education as a coordinated national strategy to respond and solve the problems.

The PRO maintained that the supposed CSE guidelines making rounds on social media did not come from them. Mr. Assifuah said the supposed documents and videos attributed to the Education Ministry were borne out of mischief.
