Farmer’s livelihood goes up in flames: thousands of tubers destroyed

A devastating bush fire has ravaged a yam barn in Tapon-Akura, farming community under Krachi East, Oti Region, leaving a farmer with a staggering loss of over 1000 tubers of yams.

The blaze , which occurred yesterday is estimated to have caused significant financial losses for the farmer.

Mr. Tapon N-Yachame, the farmer said the fire started in the afternoon and quickly spread throughout the farm, engulfed the yam storage facility.
