GTTA Set to End the Year with Grandmaster Championship

The Ghana table tennis Association will on Thursday December 30, host the finest top 10 players from both the female and male categories at the D.G Hathiramani sports Hall in Accra.

The tournament according to the President of the Association, Mawuko Afadzinu is to decide who is the ultimate champion in the year 2021.

It will also serve as a platform to have proper ranking system ahead of future championships.

The Male team is comprised of current SWAG award winner Emmanuel Commey, Derek Tawiah Abrefa, Ernest Quarcoo, Emmanuel Asante, Benard Joe Sam, Ismael Addy, Victor Smart Akintaro, Reindolf Larbi, in-form USA based Felix Lartey and youth champion Emmanuel Ofori.

Leading the pack in the women’s category is Homowo champion Eva Adom-Amankwaa, current SWAG award winner Cynthia Kwabi, Matilda Fodu, Bernice Borquaye, Dorothy Obuobi, Millicent Ankude, Beatrice Gyasi.

Worthy additions to the women’s category are cadet players Emmanuella Yaa Kyere, Blessing Labanti and Emerald Bortey.

Their addition to the championship further solidifies GTTA’s “future in mind” concept, where they are grooming new players to augment the various national teams.
