The Greater Accra Hockey Association (GAHA) will commence it’s new season with a GALA slated for Saturday 14th March, 2020 at the Theodosia Okoe Hockey Stadium.
The GALA which is sponsored by Ghana Gas will see 22 clubs across four (4) categories namely; Men, women, youth and masters battle for the honours and bragging rights.
Speaking to isports360, Vice President of GAHA – Mr Derrick Tamakloe made mention of the preparedness of the Association with respect to the season as well as assuring the entire hockey populace of a better hockey season.
“We are glad a new season is here and we will as usual start with a GALA. We are hoping to see all clubs come on board as we raise the curtains for a new season”,he said.
“The format of the GALA will be the same as the previous year with teams playing a round robin group format with winners of each group facing off in the final. The women on the other hand will play a single round robin format”, he added.
“We are assuring everyone of a better hockey season and the GALA will serve as an example of what to expect in the league”, he concluded.
The GALA starts at exactly 6:00am with a dicey duel between Exchequers HC and Ghana Police HC.
