A 12-YEAR-old house girl at Atwima Mim in the Ashanti Region has allegedly committed suicide, a police source at Nkawie has informed the DAILY GUIDE.

The deceased, identified as Princess Ntiamoah, was found hanging on a window burglary proof in the bedroom of Abena Gyasiwaa, the woman she was staying with.

The incident happened around 11:30am on February 19, 2021, and it has thrown the entire Atwima Mim Township into a state mourning.

The young girl used to live with her parents at Asamankese in the Eastern Region and was brought to Atwima Mim two months ago to live with Abena Gyasiwaa.

What motivated the young girl to end her life was not immediately known as there was no suicide note.

The source said Abena Gyasiwaa and one Charles Abankwa on February 19, 2021 reported that Princess was found hanging in the bedroom at 11:30am.

“On receipt of this information, police accompanied by the complainants, proceeded to the place and found a young female, who was identified to police as Princess Ntiamoah. Police found out that her neck was tied with a dress across a window burglary proof in the bedroom of Abena Gyasiwaa, dead, with her legs stepping on a five inches student mattress,” the police source said.

The body of the deceased, the police source said, was carefully inspected but no marks of violence were found to arouse suspicion of a foul play in the death.

Princess’ body was later removed and deposited at the Frimpong Boateng Medical Centre for autopsy and preservation. Investigations are ongoing.
