Former President John Dramani Mahama has described former President John Agyekum Kuffuor as a blessing to his family, the governing Patriotic Party (NPP) and the country as a whole. In a Facebook page commemorating Kuffuor’s 80th birthday which fell on December 8, Mahama wrote in a post “Happy 80th Birthday President J.A. Kuffour.
You have been a blessing to your family, your party and our dear nation, Ghana. May the good Lord continue to bless you and grant you good health and greater fulfillment.” John Mahama was a Member of Parliament when Kuffuor was president between 2001 and 2009.
Former president John Agyekum Kuffuor turned 80 on December 8, 2018. To mark the special occasion, a special reception was held at the former president’s residence in Accra. Present at the reception were many dignitaries including President Nana Akufo-Addo, members of his government, leading members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) as well a family and friends.
Kuffuor was Ghana’s second president after Jerry Rawlings. He led a massive transformation and has been associated with social interventions such as the National Health Insurance Scheme.
