National U18 Handball Team Finalise Togo Trip Today

The national U18 boys handball team held their last training session on Friday 28th June, 2019 at the Accra sports stadium ahead of their competition in Lome, Togo.

Prior to the final Eighteen selection, twenty six players were invited across the country for a two day justify your inclusion at the Accra sports stadium.The competition which is being organized by the France Federation in collaboration with Confederation of African Handball for zone 2 and 3 countries in West Africa, has been scheduled to throw-off from 30th June to 6th July, 2019 with Togo as host nation, Ghana,  Nigeria, Benin,  Ivory Coast and Niger all fighting for supremacy.

Speaking to Amanie fm, the technical director of the Handball Association of Ghana Mr. George Bankole says this competition would help improve the playing level of the youth and help the them gain more international exposure and experience.

He also emphasized on the need for the sports ministry,  NSA and the cooperate world to invest more in least financed sports as well as long term player development.

The team will come up against Cantonment Youth handball club in a friendly encounter at the Prisons complex today, before leaving the shores of the country on Sunday morning 30th June, 2019 by road.
