New Juaben Table Tennis Club postpones ‘Asawa’ National Open Championship

The New Juaben Table Tennis Club based in Koforidua has officially suspended the upcoming and much anticipated National open championship dubbed ‘Asawa National Open’ till further notice.

A statement published on the club’s social media handles on Monday 16th March, 2020 and sighted by amaniefm.com said,

“The Club wish to announce that ASAWA National Table Tennis Open Championship has being suspended until Further Notice”.
“Following the Corona Virus Pandemic, the Government of Ghana has address the Country to suspend all public gathering and sporting activities”.
“As this news is very disappointing, the club believes it is best course of action to take to combat the spread of this Virus”.
“We encourage all players to keep on training to stay in shape”.
“Regular updates will be communicated through all our channels about the suspension”. The club’s statement said.
The first ever open championship was initially billed for April 18th, 2020 at the S.C Apenteng hall in Eastern region, Koforidua with a bounty amount of 1700 cedis at stake as  total cash prize.
