The New Patriotic Party’s Deputy communications Director for Ablekuma Central constituency who also doubles as the special aid to the member of parliament
in the constituency, Ibrahim Saeed shared his opinion over the decision taken by the government over the closure of some banks was the best.

His comments follows the former president John Dramani Mahama’s criticization of the banking sector reforms introduced by the government.

Speaking to Amanie news, Mr. Ibrahim Saeed says the former president is politicizing.

“It was not that the bank of Ghana stood up one day and decided to revoke their licences, they were sanctions because they breached a lot of regulations
which they were aware and they were given time to correct their errors but yet still they could not make up the deadline and bank of Ghana has no alternative than to take this bold decision”. he said.

“If the bank of Ghana did wrong, I believe those financial institutions whose banks have been close would have taken the BOG to court but how come they did not”. he added.

“Some NDC are applauding the BOG for such bold decision taken. Even the president of the bankers Mr. Alhassan Andani commended Dr. Addison and his administration for such a wonderful job done, so clearly, this is just a desperate attempt by the former president just because he wants to be in power which during his tenure, he had the chance to correct”. he stressed.
