President-elect John Dramani Mahama has appointed a 10-member transition team to ensure a seamless transfer of power from the outgoing government to the incoming administration. The team, composed of experienced individuals from various sectors, including finance, governance, and public administration, will work closely with representatives of the outgoing government.
The appointed members of the Joint Transition Team include, Hon. Julius Debrah as Co-Chairperson, Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketia, Hon. Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, Dr. Callistus Mahama, as Member/Secretary to the Transition Team, Dr. Valerie Sawyer, Prof. Kwamena Ahwoi, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Hon. Mahama Ayariga, Hon. Goosie Tanoh, and Dr. Edward Omane Boamah.
The transition team’s primary objective is to ensure a smooth handover of power, in accordance with the Presidential (Transition) Act, 2012 (ACT 845). This move demonstrates President-elect Mahama’s commitment to upholding the principles of democracy and ensuring a peaceful transition of power.
In addition to the transition team, President-elect Mahama has also nominated Rt. Hon. Edward Doe Adjaho as a member of the transitional Advisory Council.
