The ceremony will also see the Ghana Hockey Association honour the outgoing Australia High Commissioner to Ghana, H.E Mr Andrew Barnes, for his enormous contributions to Hockey development in Ghana.

Mr Andrew Barnes played a phenomenal role in the development of Hockey in Ghana – playing a major role in the Citizens International Inter School Hockey fiesta. He was also present at the hockey pitch during high profile tournaments. He also played for Citizens International Hockey Club in the Greater Accra Hockey league during his stay in Ghana.

Also to be present at the ceremony will be the Ghana Hockey President (GHA), Dr. Ben K.D Asante and some GHA officials as well as a representative from the winning teams.

Speaking to the media, Mr. Boakye (Head of the iLeague Board) expressed gratitude to the Ghana Hockey Association and the Australian High Commissioner for this gesture.

“I am so excited that the Australian High Commissioner has decided to host our trophy presentation. This is a major boost for us and a great recognition as well. We also want to thank GHA for making this possible. We are looking forward to a great ceremony come Wednesday”, he said.
