The Minister for Roads and Highways, Hon. Akwesi Amoako Atta (MP) has commended the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Patrick Kumor, and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Hon. Tina Mensah, for the good work they have done so far.
The Honourable Minister made the statement after inspecting road projects in the Weija-Gbawe municipality.
The minister’s visit on Wednesday, 27th April 2022, was part of an inspection tour of selected municipalities in the Greater Accra Region.
On the inspection tour were the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency, Hon. Tina Mensah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Patrick Kumor, the Regional Urban Roads Director, Miss Adjoa Duku, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mrs. Mercy Quansah Ogoe, Ing. Daniel Sowah, the Municipal Roads Engineer.
Heads of departments of both the Ministry and the Municipal Assembly, accompanied the team.
The tour of the municipality took the team to C Connie, Zero last stop to the ongoing Gonsee road construction.
Other areas they visited include Djanman to Upper Weija, the Atom Kwashie road (Borla road), the Choice through Ashbread to the Onipa ye Bad stretch.
The rest of the areas were the Tetegu town roads through Wassaman and finally, at Ahwia Ahwia in the Tetegu Electoral Area.
Hon. Amoako Atta, in an interview, said all the contractors would be moving back to site in a few weeks.
The MP, Hon. Tina Mensah, a Deputy Health Minister, who was visibly elated, said her vision of seeing most roads in the municipality tarred, will be realized.
The MCE, Hon. Patrick Kumor, was happy that the Roads Minister has had a first hand information of the road projects in the municipality.
He was hopeful that the minister would walk his talk.
