You may not like him for his utterances and lifestyle but when it comes to numbers and a loyal support base, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, better known as Shatta Wale has it.

And that support was on full display on Saturday night at the Fantasy Dome of the Trade Fair in Accra when he held the Reign concert to unveil the album of the same name.

Interviews Showbiz conducted at the show gave a clear indication of a deep love for the Ayoo hit-maker, which even borders on the fanatical.

The fans turned up in their numbers to see their man
A student, Philip Adjei said he sees Shatta Wale as his ‘God’ and would never sit home when he (Shatta) calls.

“Who else can command this crowd if not Shatta Wale? The guy is not an ordinary human being. He is super human and the earlier Ghanaians see that about him and give him that respect the better,” he said.

Rose Mensah, a seamstress said despite his controversial ways, Shatta Wale remains her idol adding that she will forever remain loyal to him.

“Shatta Wale is something else. I had to leave whatever I was doing and get here to see my king, my one and only Shatta Wale. His name will forever remain in the history of Ghanaian music,” she said.

Shatta Wale was in his element
Francis Tawiah, an electrician said what he had witnessed proved that Shatta Wale is indeed the true King of Dancehall music in the whole Africa.

“Since the Bandana days I have supported him whole heartedly and nothing will make me stop supporting him,” he said.

Emmanuel Amoako, a student of the Accra Technical University said Shatta Wale should be worshiped like God just like other people are worshiped in different countries.

“ Shatta Wale has confirmed to me that one man can control almost every youth in Ghana and I salute him for that. He will forever remain my king,” he said.

The Reign concert saw the likes of Ramzy, Shatta Michy, The SM Militants, DKB and Zylofon Arts Club taking turns to thrill patrons.

Shatta Wale spent more than two hours on stage performing songs like Ayoo, Amount, Taking Over, Gringo, Dancehall Commando, Thunder Fire and other songs from the Reign album.

He surprised patrons when he started his performance with a live band. And the Patch Bay band did an excellent job on stage.

It wouldn’t be a complete show if Shatta didn’t stoke some controversy. He seemingly replied Sarkodie when he stated that he wears real gold and not ‘Alomi’ after Sarkodie dissed him on his My Advice track that he should stop wearing aluminum and wear gold.

He also stated he does not fake his lifestyle and that everything about him is authentic.

The biggest surprise of the night came when Shatta finally proposed to his baby mama, Michy, with whom he has a son, Majesty.

Since his contemporaries like Sarkodie and Stonebwoy got married, many people have been hounding Shatta Wale to get married and he gave people what they were asking for when he got down on one knee to propose to Michy.
