The Ministry of Education has officially released the 2024 school placements for candidates under the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS).

Eligible students are now able to check their school placement status through a straightforward online process.

The CSSPS platform, accessible on the Ministry’s official websites, serves as the gateway for students to confirm their assigned schools for Senior High School (SHS) or Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Out of the 563,339 results provided by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), 553,155 students have qualified for placement.

Notably, 80.93% (447,698 candidates) were matched automatically with one of their selected schools, while the remaining qualified candidates can use the Self-Placement portal to select from available options.

Here’s a step-by-step guide for students to check their 2024 placement status and ensure smooth registration:

Step 1: Access the Placement Portal
Visit one of the official CSSPS websites:
Step 2: Enter Your Index Number
• Type in your unique ten-digit WAEC index number.

• Add the digits “24” to signify the completion year (2024). For instance, if your index number is 1234567890, enter it as 123456789024.

Step 3: Submit and Review Placement
• Click on “Submit” and wait for your placement results to display.

• If you have been automatically placed in a school, your assigned school will appear.

Step 4: Use Self-Placement if Needed
• If you are among the students who were not automatically placed, proceed to the Self-Placement platform.

• Select a school of your choice from the list of available options.

Step 5: Print Your Documents
• After confirming your placement, print your enrolment form, placement slip, and prospectus.

• These documents will be essential for your registration at the school.

Step 6: Register
• You may register directly by visiting the school or complete online registration through www.admissions.cssps.gov.gh.

Important Reminders:
The Ministry emphasized that accessing the placement service is completely free. “Accessing SHS/SHTS/TVET placement is free; no PIN codes are required,” clarified Ministry spokesperson Kwasi Kwarteng in the official statement.

He also cautioned parents and guardians against paying for placement services, warning that such transactions should be reported to authorities.

Key Dates to Note
• Registration and Orientation: October 30, 2024

• Commencement of Academic Work: November 7, 2024
