Table Tennis: Former National Star Gives Back to Former Club

Former National Table Tennis star and 2005 SWAG awards winner Nana Yaw Boateng, has donated table tennis equipment’s worth thousands of dollars to the New Juaben Table Tennis Club (NJTTC) in Koforidua.

The equipment’s were presented by the Regional P.E and sports coordinator, Mr. Micheal Okoto and was also received by the club chairman Mr. Felix Adjetey Sowah in the presence of the Regional Sports Director, Mrs. Gifty Horsu-Fiano.

The items were made up of 72 packs of summit balls which is made up of 432 in total, 9 bowls of multi balls which is made up of 324 in total, 4 set of complete rackets for beginners, 36 slightly use rubbers, 2 set of nets and polls, 3 set of score boards, 3 set of multi balls stands and 1 square rubber of anti spin.

The Regional P.E and sports coordinator Mr. Micheal Okoto, expressed his excitement about the gesture and pledged his total support to the table tennis fraternity in the municipality.

Mrs. Gifty Horsu-fiano the Regional sports director who witnessed the ceremony also pledged her office in support to the club especially in re-organizing the Regional executive board of table tennis to foster the development of the game in the region.

The chairman of the club Mr. Felix Adjetey Sowah, finally advised both the office of the Regional P.E and sports coordinator and the office of the Regional sports director to team up and work hard to form the Regional association body of table tennis in other to develop and promote the game.

This marks the former players third donation to the club this year.
