United Christian Relief Service (UCHRISTS) embarks on massive training

A Non-Governmental Organization NGO, United Christian Relief Service (UCHRISTS) are embarking on a massive youth in skills training activities. The project which has been in existence since the beginning of last year in collaboration with GIMPA Gender Development and Resource Centre, Legon, and individual service providers is targeted to place over 8,000 unskilled youth in apprenticeship training within Ablekumah South, Ablekuma West, Ablekumah Central and Ga-South Constituencies in Accra.

The training which includes hair dressing, make up, catering, decoration among others is aim to help young females especially teenage pregnancy victims between the ages of 14-25 years who finds it difficult and engaged in social vices to further their education. Speaking to amanie news, the Chief Executive Officer of United Christian Relief Service Bishop Emmanuel Odotei Pappoe says the initiative has so far place over 1,300 youth whom are mainly girls in apprenticeship training with individual service providers

He also disclosed that, the project is expected to undergo other placements for boys from next month 31st October to 31st November 2018.

He further called on government to intervene and support the young girls who are into training.
