The University of Ghana has announced that the 2024/2025 academic year will commence on Thursday, October 31.
The University was originally scheduled to begin the new academic year at the beginning of the month.
However, due to strike action by various labour unions including the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), the opening was delayed.
Following the suspension of the strike action by UTAG today, the University of Ghana has issued a notice, stating that the 2024/25 Academic Year will commence this Thursday.
“We refer to our earlier notice dated 25th September, 2024 regarding the postponement of the commencement of the University’s 2024/2025 academic year.
“We can now announce that the 2024/2025 academic year will commence on Thursday, 31st October, 2024, with lectures starting on Monday, 4th November, 2024,” the release issued by the University of Ghana said.
The release continued, “Further details of the academic year are contained in the attached calendar for undergraduate students. Calendars for other categories of students will be released soon and will follow a similar schedule.”
The release signed by the Registrar of the school, Mrs. Emelia Agyei-Mensah expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their cooperation and wished all members of the University community a fruitful academic year.
