The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Weija-Gbawe Constituency and Deputy Minister for Health, Hon. Tina Gifty Naa Ayele Mensah and the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Weija-Gbawe Municipal Assembly, Hon. Patrick Kwesi Brako Kumor, have inspected some projects currently underway in the municipality.
The tour of the project sites on Tuesday, 27th July 2021, took them to three (3) electoral areas.
Accompanied by the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Mrs. Mercy Quansah Ogoe, the Urban Roads Engineer, Ing. Daniel Sowah, Assembly Members and other heads of departments of the Municipal Assembly, the team first visited the Gbawe Zero enclave in the Gbawe East Electoral Area where the construction of a one kilometer U-drains was in progress.
Ing. Sowah explained that the drains, when completed, would put an end to the issues of flooding whenever it rained.
The C Connie road, which is in a deplorable state, was the next to be visited.
The MP and the MCE assured the residents of a swift intervention to construct the two kilometers stretch.
The St. Jude area in the New Weija Electoral Area where drains are under construction, was visited.
The contractors were on site and promised to complete the project on schedule.
The team went to the St. Jude Basic School to inspect a six-unit classroom block which is at the roofing stage.
The projects inspection tour ended at the Tetegu Electoral Area where dredging works are being done for the easy flow of the Densu river through the community.
Speaking to the media after the tour, both the MP and the MCE reiterated their commitment to the development of the constituency/municipality.
