Victims of Wenchi Youths in the afforestation accident which occurred on the 25th April, 2022 in the Bono region are bitterly complaining about how their authorities has neglected them.
According to them, they were returning from tree planting duty by tricycle where they unfortunately met such a tragic incident which left one dead and two others currently disabled.
Madam Rebecca Dekyi, one of the victims explained further that, the leadership of Bono regional forestry department only visited them at the hospital the day of the incident and nothing else till now.
She mentioned again that, they are not yet healed but because they unable to cover their hospital bills which currently range around GHC10,000 and GHC60,000 for herself and the other victim respectively, this has forced authorities of the hospital to discharge them but still on their nerves for their bills which they can not afford since they can’t work.
She also mentioned how her colleague is suffering from spinal and waist problem and has also undergone two unsuccessful surgery and both of them are now using clutches now.
They, however, called on the support of the government and other stakeholders.
