Edem Agbana, Member of Parliament for Ketu North, has expressed confidence in the future of Ghana’s road infrastructure under the leadership of Kwame Governs Agbogza, the Minister-designate for Roads and Highways.

Speaking after the vetting of minister-designates on Monday, January 20, Agbana underscored the need for transparency in reporting progress on road infrastructure. He noted discrepancies in claims made by the previous administration regarding road construction achievements.

“The previous government made bold claims about the expansion of road networks, but during the vetting process, it became clear that less than 700 kilometres of roads were actually completed, contrary to the initial assertions,” Agbana stated. “It is important to set the record straight,” he added.

Agbana commended Agbogza’s qualifications and extensive experience, particularly his previous role as a ranking member in the roads sector, which he believes positions him to effectively oversee the development of Ghana’s road infrastructure.

“I am confident that the honourable minister-designate will excel in his role and ensure that the road infrastructure promised to Ghanaians, especially during President Mahama’s government, is realized,” Agbana said.

The MP expressed optimism that Agbogza’s leadership would bring a renewed focus on delivering impactful road projects to address the nation’s infrastructure challenges and improve transportation for all Ghanaians.
