As part of the Electoral Commission’s efforts to demystify its operations and bring the Commission closer to the citizenry, the Commission was engaging in consultations with key stakeholders.

A statement by the Commission made available to the Ghana News Agency said the purpose of the consultations was to know at first-hand the concerns and issues of key stakeholders regarding the Commission and its operations.

Additionally, it said the engagements would provide the Electoral Commission the opportunity to inform stakeholders about its current activities and outlook for the future.

The statement said the delegation was made up of Mrs Jean Mensa, Chairperson, Dr Bossman Eric Asare, Deputy Chairperson, Corporate Services, Mr Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairperson, Operations and other Commissioners.

It said the Commission would meet with the Clergy, Traditional Leaders, Former Presidents and Civil Society among others.

The statement said the Commission had already visited a number of media houses including Multimedia, Citi FM, Despite Group of Companies, Graphic Communications Group, and the Ghana Journalists Association.

It said at the end of the stakeholder’s engagement the Commission would have not only opened its doors and operations but would also have gained tremendously from the insights and experiences of stakeholders.
