Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams, Youth Coordinator of the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC) has urged Ghanaians to help and support each other in fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

Speaking to Yours Truly on the way to curb the spread of the disease, he said unless we act like ‘Captain Planet’ and come together to fight and win, it would take a long time and the spread can be wide.

He expressed that the only way to stop the spread is by obeying the health protocols issued by the health experts.

According to Olla Williams who is also the Schools Sanitation Ambassador, it would be difficult ensuring and maintaining social distance in some densely populated communities and house holds, such as compound houses, but people should try their best to wash hands with water and soap as well as wear the nose and mouth masks.

He noted that since the Schools Sanitation Tour has been halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, they have decided to work in the communities by visiting compound houses and educate people.

He said with the support of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), Unilever and the security services; they hope to reach a number of house holds.

The keen sports enthusiast and organizer said the people living in the Zongos must also be educated to observe social distancing and mask wearing as covid-19 does not know the rich or poor nor the elderly and young people.

“We have done our best to contain the disease but we have to do more not to spread it, and I keep on saying it is not a joke, and it is not a film. We must all come together and fight covid-19” he pleaded.

Mr. Emmanuel Olla Williams, who is CEO of Dreamland Sports Plus and One-On-One Foundation has managed to get some companies to support security agents and also made presentations to various institutions in the country.

He advised students not to give up in learning, but aid their parents at home and try to be disciplined at all times.
