Speaking to the the Co-founder of FreelunchGh after the donation, Md. Kadijat El-Alawa revealed that their main objective is to provide for the needy as part of their Cooperate Social Responsibilities.

“Our main focus is to provide food for under privileged kids and put them through some educational studies, so we collaborate with community libraries to make these happen.” She stated.

She further added that, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, an emergency food bank was created to support the less privileged.

“So we decided to launch the Emergency Food Bank so that we can provide care packages to individuals in under-privileged in communities, individuals and families who are not able to make ends meet.

“We have been able to reach over 16,000 people since we started before the lockdown. And we are still continuing because the 3 weeks lockdown has had a ripple effect on a lot of people so even after the lockdown, we found that a lot more people would need help to get themselves back to where they were before.” The co-founder added.

She also expressed her profound gratitude to the donors of the items who made it possible.

“We are grateful to all our donors, supporters and to every single person who has helped us especially even to our volunteers who have been with us on all our trips.”

“And we are also grateful to sponsors such us Sankofa, Snack foods, Ahaspora, Poki house network, Fanmilk and others” Md. Kadijat stated.
