Hon. David Kwaku Abbey popularly known as ‘Broso’, a former assembly member aspirant in Ablekuma Central has donated 300 food items to the aged and vulnerable at a community called Town Council Line, in the municipality on Monday 25th May, 2020.

The donation which included parcels of beans, bags of rice, oils, tins of tomatoes was supported by one of the fasted growing entity FreelunchGH, an NGO that provides free meal.

The items came as a relief to all those affected by the restrictions during these trying times as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In an exclusive interview with Hon. David Kwaku Abbey, he stated that the donation was basically targeted to the less privileged and aged in the community.

“So we were giving out to the aged people from 60 to 70 and those who are in need. Due to this sickness, COVID-19, things have not been going well and some have lost their job. Others couldn’t cater for their mothers and fathers.

“The little that we could do to help was what we did, that was why I brought my people on board to do the donation and I am sure what we did has placed some joy in their heart,’ he said.

He further hinted that, plans have been put in place to support and secure jobs for the youths.

“Once we are done with the aged, you know the youths, most of them were previously working in hotels, restaurants and other places and now they have even lost their jobs due to the COVID-19.

“So we are planning of supporting them with some small loans with no interest, where they can start their own petty business to support themselves in the community.” Hon. Abbey stressed.
