The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twumasi has stressed that the body is overly ready for the start of the 2020/2021 football season.
Following 6 months of inactive football as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic, the government has finally given the clear for the new season to start next month.
Speaking to Asempa FM today, Henry Asante Twum who speaks for the Ghana FA has indicated that the association is ready to get going.
“We [Ghana Football Association] are more than ready for the start of the new football season”, the Communications Director said.
He continued, “The Executive Council is yet to meet to discuss the resumption of football. I am sure they will discuss if the date given by President Akufo Addo is fine for the start of football but we are happy we have been given the clearance finally”.
The new football season is scheduled to return on October 30 with the Ghana Premier League and the National Division One League.
The Ghana FA is however expected to meet with the various clubs to settle on a convenient date.
