A 6-Unit classroom block with ancillary facilities being constructed by the Coastal Development Authority (CODA) at Adafianu in the Ketu South constituency nears completion.
The project is being funded by the Authority under the Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Programme (IPEP).
IPEP is a flagship programme of the Akufo-Addo administration which allocates one million dollars or its Cedi equivalent annually to each constituency for special development projects. The projects, which are aimed at accelerating social and economic development, are selected through an inclusive stakeholder engagement and participatory needs assessment process.
The Chief Executive Officer of CODA, Lawyer Jerry Ahmed Shaib as part of a monitoring exercise, led a team to inspect progress of work on the project which has been progressing steadily and is nearing completion with about 90 percent of work done.
With about a month to final completion of the school facility, the beneficiary school has decided to temporarily occupy the building while remaining features and fittings are put in place.
The occupancy of the new classroom block ahead of its completion highlights the urgency of the school’s need for teaching and learning space and underscores the appropriateness of the project and its fitness for the community’s purpose.
