The organizers of this year’s prestigious GaDangme Homecoming event has officially released series of programs ahead of the slated date.
It is on the theme “Harnessing GaDangme Resources for Sustainable Development”
This would help promote the GaDangme heritage, unite Ghanaians in the diaspora in order to foster national cohesion and development.
The week long event has been scheduled with series of activities from the 9th to 22nd August.
On Monday, 9th August, there will a visit to the Greater Accra Regional house of chiefs.
Collectives will be put on display at the Trade fair, La on Tuesday, 10th August.
Stakeholders in the Dangme communities will hold a discussion forum on Wednesday, 11th August.
A symposium with focus on GaDangme will be held at the Central University campus in Accra on Thursday, 12th August.
On Friday, 13th August a special Muslim prayers will also take place.
There will be a tour to some tourist attraction sites in the Dangme communities on Tuesday, 17th August.
The activities will follow with an interaction with GaDangme queen mothers by the Diaspora GaDangme Women’s Movement on Wednesday, 18th August at La.
The Independence Square will also host a Durbar and communique of chiefs, QueenMothers and other dignitaries in the society on Thursday, 19th.
Fundraising and a Gala dinner / awards will be held at the Accra International Conference Center on Saturday, 21st August.
On Sunday, 22nd August, a Thanksgiving church service will come off at Abokobi in the Ga East Municipality to officially climax the event.
The organizers have stated that all safety measures of the COVID-19 will be adhered to accordingly.
