The Ablekuma Central Municipal Assembly, in collaboration with the Ghana Prisons Service and Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association, recently organized a clean-up exercise in Abossey Okai.
The event organized by the assembly drew a large crowd and aimed to promote sanitation, healthy lifestyles, and good living within the constituency, and forms part of assembly’s commitment and objectives.
Addressing the media, the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Frank Nkansah, urged the spare parts dealers to adhere to the sanitation measures put in place. He announced plans to establish a sanitation and maintenance protocol, improve drainage systems, and implement penalties for offenders. The assembly plans to organize the exercise every three months across all electoral areas.

The Abossey Okai traditional leader, Nii Abossey Okai, emphasized the need for disciplinary actions against sanitation offenders. He advised the MCE to implement necessary actions to improve sanitation in Ablekuma Central.

The General Secretary of the Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association, Gifty L. N Fianu, expressed gratitude to the assembly for their efforts in improving sanitation and cleanliness. She urged the spare parts shop owners to practice sustainable lifestyles by keeping their frontages clean and tidy.
The event attracted both political, Islamic and distinguished dignitaries across the constituency.
