The Parliamentary primaries Aspirant for Bortianor-Ngleshie-Amanfrom constituency Mr. Sylvester Tetteh has stated that being an MP is ones duty to serve people with dignity, integrity and with all seriousness that comes with the office of the member of parliament.

He noted that this wasn’t his first time to contest as a member of parliament as he has already contested twice in Ningo-Prapram but lost.
Speaking to Bridge News Gh on the sidelines of the upcoming NPP primaries, Mr. Tetteh hopefully noted that even though he lost, it does not mean that he has nothing to offer to the people in his constituency but still think that there is so much in him that he can offer.
“Being a member of parliament clearly tells that you are a law maker but aside the law making, as a member of parliament, you should be an advocate to the community and an agent for development and change within the community where you represent them” He said.
He said there are 275 members of parliament on the floor of the house and everybody is crumbling, fighting and looking out for the same development he/she is pushing for in his/her constituency.
“You need a very good and innovative advocate who is experienced in the current dispensation in politics in Ghana. For me I think that the people of Bortianor Ngleshie-Amanfrom should put the constituency among the committee of constituencies that are ranked very high for the country.” He added.
Mr. Tetteh noted that it’s a cosmopolitan community with a lot of young people, business interests and a growing community that requires a lot of infrastructure, advocacy and innovation to be able to champion the development aspirations of the constituency.
“I think that on the ticket of the NPP, even though we will be going into a very difficult elections in 2020 and maintaining the seat is going to be a very big challenge to us as a party but when it comes to experience in politics, I have quit a remarkable experience more than anybody else in that contest. I also think that being an indigenous person, I can better understand local dynamics and aspirations of the people better and that is why I’m putting myself up for this challenge. I think that whatever the community or the society has given out, it’s about time to give back to society.” He explains
He stated that it is not just being an MP for being an Mp sake but being an MP to make an impact in the lives of young and many more people  who will be looking up to the MP.
“You will become a role model, a motivator to people and let young people see the need to also aspire to get to the level where you have gotten to. I have made my solemn pledge to my party that we need to come together as a united front, people committed to ensure  development but not the time to fight one another. It is for this reason my slogan is “United for Victory 2020” Mr. Tetteh stated.
He said he is confident that he will emerge victorious in these primaries for that matter need to be sober in his campaigns and have admonished all his followers to exhibit same qualities. Adding that in every community/society, there comes a time the inner retrospection needs to be done with a bold decision and that’s where  the party is now.
Mr. Tetteh said there are 530 delegates and the leadership of Hon. Habib Saad is seen and accessed, he therefore think that it’s an internal issue that the delegate will make a decision as to whether or not he has strength and what it takes to maintain the seat for the party.
On the performance of the current government, Mr Tetteh noted that the President has remarkably done well as a president for the good people of Ghana and still doing a lot of things but who is to advocate for the share of the community?
He said these are things that should be bordering the minds of delegates and they won’t make a mistake in selecting a good advocate for the community.
“I believe that with God on our side, we will be selecting a good leader who is nationally appealed and that it won’t be difficult to link a constituency to the main.” He said.
The Aspirant said there’s so much hope for the country today because the chief inspires of the young people is the president of the republic who has led a way that many more young people have been given the opportunity to serve in government and cooperate world by way of creating jobs and opportunities for young people in this country.
“What is left is for us is to be discipline, dedicated and to inspire and understudy seniors of society that will ensure our service to society. It has never happened in the history of this country that a leader in just 3 years has remarkably helped in the lives of young people at various fields of job opportunities like this current president and the future is quiet bright. We are talking of digitization of the economy, where I think that Ghana’s economy in the face of all the challenges that the global economy is experiencing, Ghana still stands tall as one of the fastest growing economies of this world and what it means is that young people have the opportunity to take the advantage of it.”
He urged the young people to grab the opportunity given them by the current government, study and stay out of social vises for the betterment of their lives, the community and the country at large.
