Residents of Atwima Yabi in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region are living in fear after thugs attacked the community, destroying several properties.
The residents expressed their displeasure at the situation, stating that they now live in a state of terror as thugs and macho men harass them, and have even mounted barriers in parts of the community.
“We can’t even go to farm anymore because they have destroyed some of our crops and farm items. Our lives are in danger,” said a resident.
Speaking on behalf of Yabihene, Okyeame Asiedu appealed to the residents to remain calm, stating that they have taken all necessary steps and engaged all stakeholders in the security fraternity.
He called on the overlord of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, and the government for immediate intervention to save lives and properties.
